Aluminum casting - gravity casting method

The method of pouring molten metal into the cavity of a mold using gravity (atmospheric pressure) to create castings is called "gravity casting." Since the molten metal flows smoothly into the mold, there is less air entrapment, allowing for heat treatment and welding.
